GIVEAWAY: Reflekt x The Dana Diaries

If there’s one thing I stress out regularly, it’s my skin. Even at 26 I’m still prone to breakouts. SIGH. Maybe it’s all that worrying about the breakouts. Who knows?

Anyway, I’m excited to spill the details about one of my new favorite skincare products, but before we even get that far let’s back up and talk about my skin type.

I always thought I had “combination skin”. (When you really think about it, what the hell does that even mean?!) Anyway, I always thought that in the summer, my skin got extra oily with the heat, while in the cooler months, it became extra dry. We’re talking DESERT dry. Recently, however, I’ve noticed that my skin is more sensitive than I’ve always given it credit for. Using the wrong moisturizer, mask, or acne treatment just once is enough to send my skin into a frenzy, whether that takes the form of some forehead or cheek acne, or severely dry, flakiness. Real cute, right?

There’s really no telling what might set my skin off, and naturally, I’m always skeptical when it comes to trying out a new product. So, when I tell you that I’m in love with Reflekt 1 by Reflekt Skincare, you know I mean it. This cleanser is the real deal, and seeing incredible results.

It’s extra soft, light exfoliating micro-beads leave my skin feeling fresh and clean after every wash, without stripping my skin of moisture. My skin feels hydrated and extra soft for hours on end thanks to ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vegetable collagen and Pro-vitamin B-5. It’s pretty much everything you could ask for in a cleanser and more, right?! It’s basically a one-stop shop for cleansing, exfoliating, and hydrating. Oh, and did I mention it smells absolutely heavenly?!

What have your thoughts been on Reflekt 1 so far?

I honestly love this cleanser so much. I feel like my skin looks and feels better and better with each use. It effectively gets rid of impurities (ahem, my layers of makeup), without stripping my skin of all moisture and leaving my skin as dry as a desert! My skin is energized, soft, and hydrated all of which are important to me in a cleanser!

If you could sum up your blog in a sentence or two, what would you say?

My blog’s tagline is ‘travels, thoughts, and things,’ and everything I write about (or post about on social media) is a reflection of every single thing that interests or inspires me, whether it’s beauty, fitness, travel, or PIZZA. ‘The Dana Diaries’ is a true lifestyle blog and an eclectic space that, I hope, encourages people to be unabashedly authentic.

What do you want our followers to know about you?

I often get asked if I blog full-time, which I don’t. With that in mind….I  think my journalism background is quite interesting! I graduated from UNC (GO HEELS!) with a journalism degree and I worked at a major news outlet for four years before I entered the tech start up space!

How would you describe your skincare habits/routine?

I would say my skin care routine is pretty basic, but solid. I wash my face and apply moisturizer every morning, and I never, EVER fall asleep without washing my face in the evening. I honestly don’t think I could possibly fall asleep without doing that; I think it’s as much a mental ritual as it is physical one at this point. I’ve been trying to get into the habit of using a vitamin C serum in the morning as well, and I always make sure to wash my face before a sweaty workout!

Name one skincare product you can’t live without.

I would never survive without moisturizer. It’s the holy grail of my skincare routine. Nothing looks or feels right without that nice layer of smoothness and hydration.

What’s one thing that will always get you out of bed in the AM?

Is Dunkin’ Donuts a qualified answer? Otherwise, I would say that scheduling a great workout is the one thing that helps kick start my day. I am a royal snoozer and love my zzz’s, but if I’m signed up for a workout I’m excited about at a studio I love, I’ll get up as soon as the alarm goes off!

Tell us  a few influencers or celebs who is gives you #skingoals?

I would say Sivan Ayla. Her skin is truly stunning and absolutely #skingoals to me. She’s incredibly natural, and her skin always has the perfect dewy glow! Alicia Yoon is also so fab!
