Stay wild, moon child.
Greetings, fellow weirdoughs! It’s only been a few weeks since Supermoon Bakehouse opened in the LES, and if you haven’t been there yet…. what are you waiting for?! I don’t know what you’ve been doing all this time. One thing’s for sure: there will NEVER be a shortage of crazy deserts in the Big Apple! From alcoholic ice cream, to ridiculously flavored (and sized…) donuts, to Ube flavored milk shakes, NYC has it all. And where the fun food pops up, I go.
Supermoon Bakehouse is right up there when it comes to crazy treats! Supermoon’s menu boasts a bunch of funky croissants and donuts that are literally out of this world. I don’t think I’ve seen anything quite like them. Like seriously, the Banana Split Sundae Twice-Caked Croissant? The A Matcha Made in Heaven Donut? Or how about the Ti-Rum-Is Cruffin? These were literally made for your Instagram (and the perfect treats for any sweet tooth!).
Luckily, Supermoon is right around the block from Ben, so we went for breakfast last weekend. I ended up getting the Lychee-Berry Jelly Bi-Color Croissant, which was freakin’ delicious, despite being pretty messy! Picture a massive croissant, covered with stripes of strawberry powder, topped with slices of dried strawberries, and oozing with the most delicious lychee-berry jelly? My mouth is actually watering as I️ think about it. Ben got the incredibly underwhelming regular croissant…. yawn. Jk,I️m sure it was good… maybe.
And if these flavors haven’t sold you, the space and branding at Supermoon will. The store has high ceilings, tons of natural light, and a wall of glass showcasing the bakers hard at work in the back. Pretty neat. And when you first walk in, rather than seeing the options from behind a glass case, they have the treats laid out in a row on top of a funky pink stone table. A unique showcase if there ever was one! Behind the table, you’ll find stacks of iridescent shiny boxes for the peeps who want to order ALLLLL the goods. Since we only got one croissant each, we got our services in matching iridescent packages. They were so pretty I took them home and have one on display on my TV stand LOL.
Next time you’re in the LES, you should definitely stop in to Supermoon! You won’t be disappointed (unless you get a regular old croissant, which you could literally order ANYWHERE.)
