A little bird told me…

…that I was going to love Birds & Bubbles! Lie, they did not. April and I headed down to the Lower East Side today to nom on some fried chicken and biscuits. (Are you seeing a trend here? My insides are. They are not happy, but my tastebuds say otherwise.) Tucked away on the basement level of 100B Forsyth St, Birds & Bubbles is a super trendy (and tiny) spot that specializes in fine southern cookin’ and, you guessed it, bubbly. It has a row of tables in the dining room and various seats at the bar, but the back patio is definitely the best spot in the restaurant. It’s a great little haven amidst the hustle and bustle of the LES, Little Italy and Chinatown neighborhoods. April and I both started with cocktails (April, the Orange and Basil flavored “Cordial + Bubbles”; me, the “Maddame Pommery”). We both got the fried chicken sandwiches (formally, the Chicken and Egg Biscuit), which were to die for. The fried chicken was perfect and the biscuits melted in our mouths. There was a huge birthday party going on, so the service was a little slow, but I would definitely go back to try the chicken and waffles!
